Yoga at school for focused and relaxed children

I believe that education is not only about academics, tests and scoring points. It is also about awareness and understanding.

I really believe that kids shall learn yoga at school. In the hyperactive world where they were born, children constantly are told to calm down focus, and listen to instructions. But how can they relax and concentrate if their mind is buzzing all the time?

A regular yoga practice has been proven to benefit students in many ways: physiologically, mentally, emotionally and school performance.

Yoga gives tools to students, at an early age, to develop their awareness – as they learn to control their breath, move their body in certain ways and experience relaxation exercises. They acquire techniques to manage their mind, body and emotions. They learn to quiet the mind and the body.

Not only they can listen to instructions better, but also, they listen to themselves. Yoga encourages a more peaceful and healthy lifestyle, with children’s unplugged mind, more in tune with themselves and their surroundings. In the long term, it helps them to learn and  concentrate better.

That is what I created the MiniYOGI Academy. I recently developed trainings for school teachers to acquire yoga and relaxation techniques and implement them into their classroom, everyday. Only 5 minutes a day of yoga and relaxation can help classrooms to be more quiet and more focused.

Different modules are proposed for kindergarten, primary and secondary schools. Trainings are proposed online and offline.

If you are a school teacher or a parent willing to improve wellbeing of children at school, and get children more equipped to grow happily into our world, you can contact me!
